About Us
Our Story
The journey of how God called us to make disciples
How We Began
The Few was born out of a deep conviction that the Christian life is not meant to be casual, cultural, or convenient. In a world where many churches cater to comfort and entertainment, we felt called to return to the radical discipleship that Jesus modeled and commanded.
Jesus said in Matthew 7:14, "Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." This verse became the foundation of our vision—to gather a community of believers who are willing to walk the narrow way, committed to a life of intentional obedience to Christ.
We started small, just as a simple bible study group at RCCG Pavilion of Redemption. As the fellowship began to grow in Christ, so did the hunger to make more disciples. With that desire came the vision of becoming a stand alone parish outside of the mother church POR.
Today, The Few is a church plant in Rosenberg, Texas, established for one purpose: to make disciples who make disciples. We exist for those who desire a disciplined life of obedience to Christ, shaped by the Word, Prayer, Fasting, and Fellowship.
What We Believe
GOD
We believe in One God. As the scripture says, "Hear, O Israel: The Lord Our God, The Lord is One." From this One God, The Father, proceeds forth His Word and His Spirit.
JESUS CHRIST
We believe in Jesus Christ, the eternal Word of God made flesh. He lived and died as a human being and is at the right hand of the Father as one mediator between God and man.
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the Holy Spirit of God whom the Father sent in the name of Jesus to indwell believers and seal them for redemption and empower them for Christian living.
THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and our sole authority for faith and practice.
MAN
We believe man was created in the image of God but fell into sin, and is in need of redemption.
SALVATION
We believe salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone, by grace, not by works.
Our Core Disciplines
Daily Word
We daily read the word of God because Jesus says man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)
Daily Prayer
We offer our hearts daily to the Lord in prayer because men ought to always pray and not faint. (Luke 18:1)
Weekly Fasting
We weekly fast because it is a way of drawing closer to God and Jesus expected that we fast. (Matthew 6:16)
Weekly Fellowship
We fellowship weekly because we are God's family and iron sharpens iron. (Hebrews 10:25)
